Tell Labor to block the dead TPP
Posted by clare on Tuesday, 17 January 2017Even though the TPP is dead without the support of the United States, PM Turnbull wants to push ahead with a vote on its implementing legislation in the Australian Parliament.
Labor, the Greens and the Nick Xenophon Team have all declared they won’t support the dead TPP. But Labor said [1] it will decide about the implementing legislation when and if it is introduced to Parliament.
Will you ask Labor to commit to reject the TPP?
Labor has criticised the TPP as risky and harmful to Australia’s interests [2]because it will mean stronger monopolies and higher prices for medicines, special rights for global corporations to sue governments over health and environment laws and more temporary migrant workers without testing if local workers are available.
Ask Labor trade spokesperson Jason Clare to publicly commit to VOTE NO to the TPP.
