Sign the GetUp petition to make vaccines available to low income countries

May 27, 2021: GetUp has joined the campaign to change World Trade Organisation rules to make vaccines available to all.

COVID19 has minted nine new pharmaceutical billionaires. Meanwhile India's death toll has risen to 300,000 as they struggle with medical shortages.

Greedy pharmaceutical companies – more interested in lining their own pockets – won't share their vaccine recipe with countries like India to produce it themselves.

So India and South Africa have suggested an urgent 'patent waiver' to ensure more countries can produce life-saving medicines for people suffering and dying from COVID19. 

 After public pressure from their citizens, over 100 leaders, including Joe Biden and Jacinda Ardern, have agreed. But the Morrison government is dragging its feet. Sign the petition here.
