Deceitful, disrespectful and dangerous: OceanaGold in El Salvador
24 March 2016
A new study has found that Australia-based mining company OceanaGold’s attempts to reshape its image in El Salvador through a company-sponsored foundation are "deceitful, disrespectful and dangerous.”
OceanaGold is infamous in the international community and in El Salvador for its ISDS lawsuit against El Salvador. It is claiming $300 million dollars from the poor central american nation after a gold mine application was rejected to protect scarce drinking water in the country.
The study will be presented at OceanaGold’s Melbourne office on Thursday.
